My mother is admitted for lacunar infarcts in bilateral basal ganglia.. she is unconscious for last one week and today we cud see some improvement in terms of openings of eye and some body movement. Can you pls guide me as to what exactly will happen after this and how much time it takes to recover

Lacuna stroke patient recovers better then the other stroke cases where the large blood vessels are affected. Based on severity the recovery time will be 3 to 6 month and as patient gets stable with medical parameters. to deal with physical disability you need to admit her or take her to rehabilitation center where she can get both physiotherapy, occupational therapy and if needed speech therapy. the recovery prognosis are good with lacuna stroke.
