What Is The Pulsating Sensation In The Centre Of My Upper Abdomen?

I have a pulsating sensation in the center of my upper abdomen just below the sternum. I notice it if I am sitting upright with my arms folded across my stomach applying pressure to the area. It feels like there is a strong pulse and also a squirming sensation which reminds me of when I was pregnant with my children and the baby would move around. What could it be? I am nervous about pancreatic cancer because I have a family history of that. I also have a family history of esophageal cancer and abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Hi. I am sorry to tell you that the family history has really made you more and more aware. Why to worry if everything is normal. The easiest way to get relax is to go for high resolution ultrasonography of the abdomen to rule out the probable causes you are thinking of.
Well the sensation of pulsation are from an abdominal aorta, which is big enough to supply the whole loser body and being in a position so near to the hear has a great blood pressure. If you press on the area you said many would feel this pulsation.
Yet to make sure and to make you stress-free please go for the tests just to ascertain that everything if normal and fine.
