What Is The Reason For Palpitations And Heaviness In Chest?
i m a 24 year old female.....my father expired 3 weeks ago and i have gone through lot of streSS....i m experiencing slight chest pain once a day and heaviness in chest which comes and goes. Rest i m able to eat and sleep well with good metabolism. mY ecg WAS PERFECTLY NORMAL and chest X-ray and other blood teats also came out to be normal. Doctor gave me propranolol 10 mg fr 10 days as i was experiencing palpitations. Now my palpitations have gone but still experience heaviness in chest. Don t know why kindly guide me.
Respected Ma'm Thanks for writing to HCM. It was sad to hear about you dad. Heaviness in chest can have many causes. Common ones include angina, dyspepsia, muscle pain & pleuritic pain. Anginal heart disease is disntinctly uncommon in a young female. There may be local causes or dyspepsia, which can be diagnosed by simple clinical examination. I recommend a visit to GP for needful. Emotional trauma at times can produce such symptoms, however a physical cause should be ruled out. Sincerely Sukhvinder
