What Is The Reason For Sudden Headaches And Dizziness In A Person Having Type I Diabetes?
Type 1 Diabetic (age 36 male) diagnosed in July....current blood sugar is 110. Taking Metforman (spelling?). Does not take insulin. Developed sudden, severe headache and dizziness. Incoherent- had trouble waking him up after finding him in bed with clothes on. He was very confused.
Hi usually these are symptoms of hypoglycemic I.e.low blood sugar level Chek blood sugar by glocucometre when these symptoms are notice or Try giving sugar and if improvement in symptoms , take place it will confirm diagnosis
Keep sugar or chocolate handy otherwise it may be dangerous
This appears to be an episode of hypoglycemia. I would advice my patient to check the blood sugar. If the blood sugar is very low ie. Below 70 mg/dl than immediate medical help as to be sort. It the blood sugar is persistently low than he needs hospitalisation.
