I poked my varicose vein with a needle just at the surface and now it s not visable. I read this method online and was wondering why the vein dissipated and if this was a safe way of keeping them under control as opposed to pricey surgeries and treatments.
The vein would have got dissipated as injury to the vein would have caused it to thrombose. No it is npt a safe way to keep them under control as in some instances specally with large veins you could land up in bleeding which will require lot of pressure to control. If you have large visible veins causing pain or discomfort and the Color Doppler shows SF junction incompetence then Surgery would be the answer either laser or open. If not then you should wear Compression stockings to keep them in control. Take care.
