Hi, i have sore throat, very painful, and more when i try to swallow. Some cough with phlegm yellowish in color. No bad odor from mouth. I am taking benezapril 40 mg and hydrochlorathiazide 12.5 mg Can i take ciprofloxacine for the symptoms I have?
As you said about your symptoms it appears that most likely you are having respiratory tract infection involving the pharynx which is giving you pain on degulitition. The infections of respiratory tract are mainly viral and bacterial.

You have asked about use of ciprofloxacin in your case , for this I would like to say if your sorethroat is of bacterial and in that case if infecting bacteria is sensitive to this antibiotic ciprofloxacin than only you will get response. On the other hand if sore throat is viral or infecting organism is not sensitive to ciprofloxacin than it will be of no use.
Yes, you can take ciprofloxacin , but i would strongly advice against self medication and like you to meet your doctor , who will try to find out the extent of infection and why you got it. please meet your doctor. Thanks
