What Is The Remedy For Gurgling Gassy Noises,belly Ache And Bad Breath?

Hi, my 4 year old is a very fussy eater. He has constant gurgling gassy noises coming from his belly and is often bloated. He complains of a belly ache frequently. When he was 18 months old he had a bad stomach bug and he has never eaten the same again. We are worried that there is something wrong as when he tried new foods or textures he will be sick or gag on them. He has very bad breath too. The gurgling noises are always after he has eaten. Can you give some advice please?

Hi,

The gurgling noises are related to possible bowel infection your son might be suffering. Therefore, further tests are needed to determine the right problem:
- abdominal ultrasound
- examination of stool for ova/parasites
- culture of feces for candida

Having bad breath could be related to:
- throat/oral infection
- reflux
- dental infection

I also suggest to consult a pediatrician and to run the requested tests.

Please

- keep good hygiene of his mouth and throat (gargle with water and salt or/and oral spray)
- ask him to brush his teeth regularly
- ask him not to lay down immediately after eating
- apply good hygienic measures
