Hello Doctor, I sleep 8 - 9 hours. But in the morning, when i wake up, i dont feel fresh. i feel insufficient sleep. Recently i had used paracetamol before going to sleep. I had deep sleep. In the morning, i feel completely fresh. What would be my problem? Should i use paracetamol everyday before going to bed?
No , paracetamol is antipyreticanalgesic group of drugs meant for fever and very brief use. it's long term usage may affect your metabolism and hepatobiliary, gastro intestinal irritation. there are some non pharmacological management to feel fresh after night sleep. first of all avoid day time sleep / naps. do excercises daily in the morning. avoid nicotine / caffeine in your beverages. listen to soft music at the time of sleeping / or go through a good novel or magazine . take bath before sleep if possible . take proper balanced diet including fresh vegetables and fruits. make a habit of taking a glass of Luke warm milk an hour before milk. make your bed more comfortable, switch off any light during your sleep time as darkness is necessary for secretion of necessary hormone maintaining our sleep wake cycle. you may take ramalteon ( Ramitax ) 8 mg at bed time , this is not sedative or sleep pills but these maintain your sleep wake cycle or Zolfresh 10 mg at bed time instead of paracetamol, if above measures fail. but I hope you would be benefitted from non pharmacological measures only. and last but not least avoid taking much stress of work studies or other stress. de stress yourself by doing some yoga / meditation.
