Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had a blood test and was told I had mycoplasma latent in my body after having mycoplasma pneumoniase 20 years ago. She has suggested 6 months to a year on an antibiotic, 100 mg of Mino____, I have forgotten the name. I have worked for ten years to rebuild good bacteria in my body and hesitate to take antibiotics for such a long time. I also read that the mycoplasma hides in the white blood cells and changes forms so is hard for an antibiotic to really get rid of it? I am worried about what to do. Any thoughts?
