What Is The Remedy For Shortness Of Breath And Cough?
I have a cough now and then that is dry and unproductive in the morning. I smoked 3/4 pack cigarettes for 35 years. I quit 7 years ago. I also have shortness of breath with activity like going up stairs but then again I haven t exercised in 20 years either. I am 59 Years old and female.
From what you refer I think that you suffer from Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) that is a pulmonary disease. But first of all you need some tests to find the diagnosis: 1- Pulmonary X-ray. 2- Spirometry test (Lung function test). 3- Complete blood count. 4- Electrocardiogram (ECG), to check heart function. 5- Urine test. 6- Glycemic index test.
You can make a Fibrobronchoscopy, only if it is needed. You should consult your pulmonologist, that will decide if this test is needed.
I hope you find this helpful.
Take Care. Dr. Behar.
