Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a freind who is a borderline Hep C case. What can be done to convert him from borderline to negative. The doctor has told him that he should not be worried because it is a borderline case. The doc says that he is a carrier and that there is no medication for it. Can someone comment on the case. Is this something new ? what have people who were borderline cases done whihc this friend of mine can do ?

What Is The Treatment For Hepatitis C?
Hi thanks for asking question.... Your friend is HCV positive borderline.. Means his OD optical density value reading by ELISA is near to cutt off range ...Not markedly elevated.... In such case it is better to perform confirmatory test for hepatitis c by molecular method or nucleic acid test (NAT)... If he remain positive usually for more than six month then it could be carrier ..... Clinical follow up necessary... Meanwhile avoid alcohol with drinking more fruit juice ... Take carrot, Indian gooseberry, spinach , lemon juice , apple etc more ... Consult gastroenterologist for your case. You can post your report for further advise . Take care
