What Is The Treatment For Acid Reflux And Redness In The Stomach?

Why after eating or drinking a discomfort in the stomach starts which may be on the left side and then on the right side at times. It subsides as time goes on after ingesting anything for a few hours. When getting up in the morning I dont really feel any discomfort. It usually starts with 1 cup of coffee and finish at 2. It continues as I eat lunch and then supper. I went for a upper scoping 5 months ago when experiencing the same problems which revealed redness in the stomach which I was told is acid reflux. 40 grams of nexium seemed to take care of the problem within a week at which time stopped taking after a couple weeks. Now taking it again to resolve the discomfort it doesnt really seem to be working.

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Pain in abdomen on eating or drinking, redness of stomach on Endoscopy and other symptoms indicate that you have severe form of gastritis.
I would advise you the following:
Soft bland diet; small frequent feeds.
Avoid alcohol, smoking, hot, spicy and oily foods.
No stress and anxiety.
Continue Nexium
Antacids every three hours.
All these things will help to get a cure from gastritis.
Regular review by your Gastroenterologist and upper GI Endoscopy to see the progress is a must.
Do not stop medications and precautions on your own.
