Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Erosive gastropathy is due to chronic irritation of the
gastric mucosa by high acid output. If not taken care of, it of course might turn into a frank gastric ulcer. Therefore, you should take care of the following:
1) You must regulate your eating habits and maintain you normal eating time schedule.
2) Avoid oily, fried and fast food.
3) Go for more of roughage and liquids.
4) In the acute stage as of now you could go for some
proton pump inhibitor along with a prokinetic drug to reduce the acid output in your stomach and the period of contact of the acid with the gastric mucosa respectively.
5) In case it is persisting and becomes chronic, then you can elevate the head end of the bed with two blocks on each side, so that the regurgitation does not occur while lying down, and the contents of
esophagus and stomach flow down with gravity.
6) Go for regular exercises to keep yourself active.
7) Should have sufficient sleep and for this you have to adjust your timings of your job.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
