Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Treatment For Excessive Gas With A Normal Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy 4 weeks ago. I have not returned to normal. Excessive gas. Almost to the point where it is inteferring with my day and night. Colonoscopy was okay. Also quit smoking 5 weeks ago. I am going to the restroom almost daily, so that is not the problem.
I suggest to eat more fiber rich diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy vegetables and avoid butter, cheese, oily food and junk food. Maintain proper timings for eating and also for sleep, so that digestion process is not impaired. Drink plenty of water, if there are no contraindications in doing so. You may feel better.
But, investigations like upper GI endoscopy would help in establishing proper diagnosis, if not improved.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
