The cause for your insomnia taking into consideration your upcoming procedure and the menopausal symptoms you are experiencing coukld be either a hormonal influence or stress. You could try a few techniques to try to treat the insomnia like exercise just before bedtime, do meals close by from bedtime, avoid medication, etc.
If this does not help you could try medication, but it is best to avoid it.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
