Well, I have persistent itchy bumps on my ankles. This began in July 2012. First, only one bump appeared on my right ankle. Then another about 5 inches away from it on the same ankle. Then I got one on my other ankle. Since this began, the problem has spread to my entire body. I have sparsely distributed intensely itchy bug-bite looking spots. Elbows, hands, knees, buttocks, thigh, calves, and ankles are primarily affected. A family physician prescribed permethrin for scabies. My girlfriend and I both treated with it twice, two weeks apart, just as prescribed. A noteworthy mention: my girlfriend has had no symptoms and we are sexually active. I experienced no relief from my symptoms. I went to a dermatologist, she gave me Clobex topical steroid and took a biopsy from my ankle and my hand. She also gave me Ivermectin to ensure that it wasn t persistent scabies. Since I started using Clobex and moisturizing heavily every day, the itching on my arms has disappeared and the dryness on my elbows is gone as well. I have been using it one week. The itchy bumps on my ankles, calves, and thighs have not changed in appearance or itchiness. I am concerned this is a symptom of a serious problem like Crohn s or something.
