What Is The Treatment For Itchy Intestines?

Sometimes my intestines itch... I honestly cannot say it is my intestines but because the itching generally originates near anal area (not outside, but inside where stool exits) and radiates inward, I think it is a pretty good guess. And making the strain motion seems to give seconds of relief. I just had a colonoscopy so if I had intestinal worms or something of that nature, wouldn t that have shown up? In any case, I just want to know if this kind of itching is even real.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of getting intestinal itch inside the anus and colonoscopy was negative for the worms,
The worms are not seen in colonoscopy as most of the worms lie in the small intestine which is not seen in large intestine hence not seen on colonoscopy.
The itching inside the rectum can be due to the following reasons:
- Procto-colitis
- Prostatitis also can give similar complaints.
- Psychological.
I would advise you the following:
Colonoscopy has already been done, the biopsy of the rectum can tell the truth.
CT scan of the Whole abdomen including the pelvis and the area affected wherein we have to tell the Radiologist which area/organs to be seen properly and in details.
Thus can be Part of IBS and proper treatment of psychology, no stress and/or anxiety helps to recover fully well.
If there is an organic problem, it will be treated as per the findings.
Take proper treatment and you will be fine.
