I am a 52 year old woman going through menopause with extremely swollen tummy & breasts and also left side pain from the ovary upwards to under my ribs, constantly bloated even though I feel I eat a healthy balanced diet. I gained about 6 kg in 2 months during the worst part of menopause with flashes and sleeplessness. Looking for some advice thanks. Catherine.
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstruation. Due to reduction in estrogen levels, symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood changes and sleep disturbances, calcium deficiency occur.
Estrogen therapy as a part of hormone replacement therapy is the suggested treatment. Due to certain contraindications for the use of estrogen, general health assessment is required before starting the drug. Kindly consult your gynecologist for further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
