What Is The Treatment For Methamphetamine Drug Addiction?
A friend is badly addicted to methamphetamine( ice). He went without it for a few years. Says some pleasure center or transmitter has been destroyed and with out the drug his life is without joy or pleasure. His only fulfillment comes from the drug. Is there any replacement therapy ?

Long term drug use results in lasting change in the brain receptors and for some people, life is never the same again. But still, taking meth again is not the solution. He needs to be evaluated for any mood disorders as well as other psychiatric disorders. Some medicines may be tried that can help him overcome the loss of pleasure.
