What Is The Treatment For Multiple Thyroid Nodules?
I have been diagnosed with having multiple thyroid nodules. In addition, I was producing antibodies of 112 last month. My doctor says that I am going back and forth between hyper and hypo and is treating me with Naproxen only right now. The problem is that I want to diet but I can't lose weight and I have a lot of pain when I eat. I have been taking the medication for about 6 weeks and he won't put me on anything for my thyroid problem until August 5th. I'm frustrated and tired of hurting when I eat. Should I get a different doctor?
From your symptoms I can understand that you are suffering from a viral infection of the thyroid gland called subacute thyroiditis. Usually, the treatment is to improve the symptoms. If Naproxen does not help you, than corticosteroids are recommended. They are used for a period of 6 months approximately. I would recommend to discuss with your treating physician about the above alternative.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
