What Is The Treatment For Sinus Infection?

I have been sick with a chronic sinus infection and am being treated with Bactrim long term. I relapsed last week and started up on the Bactrim again on Friday. My sinuses are starting to feel better but the fatigue is still severe (coupled with a teething baby that has me up at night often). The last couple of days I have had a couple of warm flushes over my body. They do not last more than a couple seconds but make me feel somewhat lightheaded, but as soon as it passes, the lightheaded feeling leaves. Again, not lasting more than a few seconds. I have not had a fever this entire time and am not carrying a fever now. Should I be concerned or is this possibly just my body continuing to get rid of the infection?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sinus infection which means you are suffering from condition known as chronic sinusitis. It could be due to lowered immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal decongestant sprays, Antihistamines and antibiotic combination as infection is present. Co amoxiclav is best treatment option. You should take muscle relaxant as well. You should take steam inhalation. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for paranasal sinus X ray and get puncture and drainage of sinus if required. You can go for surgical reconstruction of opening after proper prescription. Do warm saline gargles.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
