Hello , thank you for your question . If you were my patient i would strongly suggest you to be hospitalised , if thinking of pancreatitis . The main reason in women for pancreatitis in women is gallblader stone e.g. cholecystitis due to the common lymp system . The necrotic form of the pancreas infection has around 85% death rate . I think that the doctor has diagnosed mild pancreas infection . I would strongly suggest you to see a doctor and get some blood tests and ultrasonography to find the reason for the infection of the pancreas . Till then recommend your sister to stick an diet 1a and check her temperature twice daily . Best reggards
