I had a dermatologist remove a small mole from under my nose. It was not sent away for a biopsy, it was just a mole I wanted removed because of the location it was in. He said that the mole was deep. It has been 8 days since the doctor put the single stitch in. The stitch is not dissolvable. I just tried removing the stitch myself because it looked like it was healed because it was a little red around and the lines that he cut i could no longer see. Also, there was no discomfort or sensitivity when I would feel the stitch. I used rubbing alcohol to sterilize the skin, the tweezers and the tiny scissors. Well, I ended up cutting off the knot and now there isn't anything left to grab. The rest of the stitch is still in there but is way too short to grab, and after trying desperately to get the end of the stitch I saw a tiny bit of blood. I'm done trying cause it obviously wasn't ready to be removed, but now I'm extremely embarrassed and hate having to go back to the dermatologist to let him see what I did. Please let me know if this is something he will be able to fix and if doctor's experience this often? Thanks in advance.
