What Leads To A Thyroid Cyst Overnight?

My mom has a thyroid cyst that appeared overnight. It is large enough to be very noticeable and the surrounding skin is pink. She got an ulrasound and got a call from her doctor to get a biopsy right away. She's calling to get referrals today, but I am so nervous. Can something like this appear very quickly and not be cancer? If it is cancer, is there a good chance it is treatable and not anaplastic?

She has thyroid cyst. It can be benign cyst or cystic papillary carcinoma. Chances of cancer are low. Most the cases are slow growing. Overnight increase in size are mostly due to benign cause. Go for FNAC or biopsy. It will give you exact diagnosis.
