Hi Dawn,

I went through the database provided on the website that you provided. The surgery that they are explaining does seem to be better than the conventional method of spinal surgeries performed all over the world.

But I do not advise you to go for it before getting the thorough information about the success rate of the surgery as in any way the surgery may show complications of damaging the spinal cord.

I will give you an insght of the spinal surgery here:

Conventional Sx:
Incision type: long one at the site of problem and the
Spinal coverage: spinal segments covered are limited
Area of nerve damage during surgery could be: limited to the segments which are open.
Chance of nerve damage: Depends on the doctor's hands and success rate.

Surgery mantioned on Website:
Incision type: Very Small, seems to be a pin hole
Spinal Coverage: Spinal segments covered are multiple
Area of nerve damage during surgery could be: more segments as the surgery apparatus goes through the whole spine to reach the affected disc.
Chance of nerve damage: Needs to be thoroughly researched with their success rate.

But if the chance of nerve damage is less then I feel this method can be chosen over the traditional one.

However, also to add you must give 4-6 months to conservative methods of recovery (physical therapy, precautions & medications). Only then go for Surgery.

Hope it helps.
