Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Precautions Are To Be Taken For Not Repeating Drug Eluting Stent Treatment And Being On Plavix?
I had a drug-eluting stent treatment on October 8, 2012. I was on Plavix for close to 10 months. I take a daily aspirin (81 mg), Lipitor (80 mg) and Ramipril (5 mg) each day. I see my cardiologist tomorrow as my one year check-up. What questions do I need to ask to make sure this does not happen again?
The best thing to do in your case is to do exactly what your cardiologists had council you to do. - Healthy lifestyle. - Stop smoking. - Increase physical activities. - Reduce alcohol, don't abuse drugs.
I also suggests to perform regular cardiac tests every six months.
Hope I answered to your query. Dr. Benard
