Can u pl tell me that will this problem affect me in any case. What precautions should be taken while conceiving n during pregnanacy? Is it difficult to conceive with hypothyroidism?
Hello, Thank you for asking on HCM! Your concern is right. Before trying to conceive you should check the TSH level. It should be under 2.5 mUI/ml to be considered normal to conceive. Once you have a positive pregnancy test you should raise the dose by 30%, as the needs in pregnancy for levothyroxine are higher. You should be under close medical supervision and check the TSH level every 4 weeks during pregnancy. If you maintain normal TSH level, there is nothing to get worried, no side effects can happen.
