What Should Be Done After Being Treated For Pneumonia?
I was diagnosed with pneumonia March 4 and given treatment for it. A subsequent x-ray showed the pneumonia was still there and I was given another antibiotic and to have another x-ray in 4 weeks. That x-ray showed the pneumonia is better but still there. Also showed cardiac pericardiac sillouette at upper limits of normal now with low lung volumes. What should I do now? I still cough and feel tired.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you are having slow resolving pneumonia. I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax 2. Bronchoscopy and BAL (Bronchoalveolar Lavage) Analysis with culture and sensitivity report. We need to finding out the causative organism. And find out the antibiotics which are effective against the isolated organism. So that accurate treatment of pneumonia can be given. Better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
