I have been working out hard lately and then one night about a week ago I work up with pain in my shoulder and back neck area. Then I experienced numbness in my thumb. I have had an xray .. showed nothing. It has been over a week now I it is no better than it was on day 1. The doctor suggest bursitis,, shown in ultrasound. Shouldn't I feel a bit better after a week?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Bursitis of shoulder take some time to resolve. Try to avoid activities in which your shoulder goes above head and weight lifting. I hope you are taking physiotherapy and heat application at your shoulder. If analgesics and physiotherapy are not working than you can get an steroid injection by orthopaedic surgeon.
