What To Do For Constant Cough?

I have been coughing for 2 months , now is getting just a little better, it is not so frequent. My doctor recommend a biopsy of the lung, after a cat scan showing some shadow. I am very scared of the risks involved , is there anything I can do to avoid the biopsy?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned but if the CT scan showed an abnormality then it may be best have the biopsy to definitely determine what it is.

Though the biopsy, like any medical procedure, it would provide a definitive diagnosis.
The most common complication of lung biopsy is pneumothorax which is the presence of air in the space between the lung and chest wall. If this does occur, it is normally small in the vast majority and resolves on its own.

You may want to discuss your concerns with your doctor

I hope this helps
