Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Dear Friend.
Fever can be viral or bacterial.
if it is just viral fever , it requires symptomatic therapy.
But if it is bacterial , antibiotics might be required.
I would suggest you to seek a medical advice nearby , so that a clinical examination and if required investigations would give the diagnosis and guide to appropriate treatment.
Till them you should do cold sponging for symptomatic relief.
I wish your child a speedy recovery.
