Hello Marcella . Whenever such type of patient visit me in my clinic I usually prescribe them as following treatment , this include. 1 As this type of cough is usually due to asthmatic allergic bronchitis so I advise them use Monteleukast+ bambuterole ( in combo pack ) one tablet twice in day with lukewarm water . Avoid dust ,mite , hay pollen, smokes, fumes , sudden fall and rise of temperature. 2 Second reason of such cough may be something inhaled in lungs due to vomits or other reason unknowingly . So consult a pulmonologist and get his opinion regarding foreign body ( small particle ) in airways rout. In my opinion with the help of these two measure you will get complete relief. Good luck.
