What To Do If A 83 Year Old Has Severe Pain In Hip Due To Arthritis And Is On Pain Medication?

My elderly mother has severe pain in her hip for a while now she says the Dr. said there nothing that can be done about it, it is arthritis. so she is taking pain pills for it every day ibupropin. And she has orderd some supple on the internet. She also has started getting severe head achs. She is 83 sears old but she doesn't want to use a walker. She is also hard of hearing and her sight is getting bad.

Hi,

Arthritis and other health problems might worsen at her age.

I'd suggest to ask her doctor to put her on other pain-killers than the current ibuprofen. It is obvious ibuprofen is not working for her. So, ask him/her to start any other stronger and more effective pain-killer.

Hard hearing and bad sight is normal at her age. You should be close to her, giving your support to ease her problems.
