I have a 26 yr old son who is a paramedic/fire fighter and in good shape. However, on occasion, like when he s getting his blood pressure taken by someone and it s job related, he seems to panic and his blood pressure ends up reading higher than it should. This has happened several times, and I m wondering if he has the white coat syndrome where it s raised due to psychological head games. He routinely checks it at home and it s never high in the least. ....I wondered out loud with him tonight if he should take one of my low dose blood pressure pills the next time he would be checked at work, not so much to mask this flukey thing, but to give him confidence that the reading would not be elevated for no apparent reason.
