What To Treat Vertigo With History Of Menieres Symdrone In A 57 Years Old Female?
I wake up ok and within about an hour I deal with vertigo til I go to bed. It s worse when I look left and then right, like driving for instance and I have to really concentrate on my balance. 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Menieres Symdrone. I am a fifty seven year old female, weigh 190 and am 5 5 .
Your vertigo can be controlled with medicines. Betahistine is a very effective medicine and gives good results in almost everyone. Antihistaminic agents like dimenhydrinate and antiemetic drugs also help. Dietary and environmental changes like low salt diet, meditation and avoiding alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, are believed to be of benefit. If your symptoms do not improve with typical treatment, then surgery is an option, though there is a risk of hearing loss after surgery.
Best wishes.
