What Type Of Mandibular Distraction Is Better For 5 Months Old?
My son has a form of first and second branchial arch syndrome. He has a trace but have received physician recommendations to do a mandibular distraction for various reasons. This can be done through either an internal or external procedure and am trying to get feedback if one type of surgery is better than the other. My son is five months old. Thank you for any input you may have.
There are specific conditions requiring mandibular distraction, but the advantages and disadvantages of particular methods with its outcome depend upon the clinical case presentation.
I would recommend to consult me in my office with the child and supportive investigations for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
