Whats The Medication For Swelling In The Forehead?
My daughter 2 year old fall from the bed (she was in standing position on bed) got her head hit the ground, left side of forehead, She got instant large swelling on forehead, please suggest me what care and medication should i do.would there be any major impact on the head due to this fall or it will be just swelling which will be subsides after somtime.
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concern. It is normal that after a hit a swallowed red area will appear,it is called hematoma and is a result of rupture of small blood vessels of the skin. If it was not a vary hard hit and despite the swelling in her forehead she is feeling good you don't need to worry.
You can put some cold in the swallow area and if she has pain you can give her some Ibuprofen.
If there are any other associated symptoms like fever, vomiting, excessive crying, loss of consciousness, convulsions etc you should consult a pediatrician as soon as possible. In this case a CT scan of brain will be needed to rule out any damage that might have occurred during the fall.
Hope it helps. Wish a good health to your little girl.
