When Is The Best Time To Start Taking Orsythia Birth Pill?

I was taking the birth control pill Orsythia and on the third week, last Tuesday, I decided to stop taking it. I got my period that Friday and am now done (4th week). I want to start taking the pill again but don t know when to start it. Should I start this Sunday or can I start taking it as soon as possible?

Hello and welcome,

The best time to start it is on day 1 of period for first time starters. For those who are using it regularly the regimen is take 21 pink tablets, then 7 green, again new pack of 21 pink followed by 7 green and so on.

If there is a break in this, start it on any day, it need not always be sunday also, but you will need another method like condoms during the first seven days if you are not beginning it on the first day of the cycle.

So start it now and use condoms in addition to the pill for the next seven days and you will be fine.
