Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When Will The Abdominal Bloating Following TB Medicine, Wysolene, Intake Subside?
I was taking wysolene as a TB treatment which caused bloating in stomach and swelling on the face. Now I have stopped taking wysolene since 4 month. Though the swelling on the face has gone, bloating on the stomach has not reduced. Will the bloating reduce on its own? If so, how long will take ? Thanks.
Wysolone can cause gastritis and bloating. Proton pump inhibitors like Rabeprazole can be used half an hour before food while taking Wysolone. Avoid foods that cause bloating like lentils, peas, beans. Eating smaller portions of meals, and regular exercise can help. Drugs that reduce bloating like Simethicone can also be used thrice a day after meals.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
