Which Is The Better Way To Use Morphine For Pain Relief?

My question about morphine, honestly what way is best to act at its best/longest? I have 100% crohns, with all the bells and whistle, 20 yrs on steroids, that caused many other painful problems ( my crohn s is rare and never got a break fr it) the las test pyodmea gangrenosum. I can t get totally free of pain unless its sedation I have taken them orally, in back of arm injection, through i v bag ,and at home I ve tried sniffing it( don t like that) and injection to a vain, which feels really good/not enough to get high but for quick pain release. So which is best/longest acting. Thank you Tina

Hi and thanks for using our services for your query.

Morphine comes in two forms. Immediate release and slow release. Which tablet you choose to use depends on what works best for you. I will suggest that you take a two day dose of extended release and multiple pain break through doses of immediate release tablets(4-6hours) if you should experience severe pain in between medications. There is really no standard way of prescribing this medication. Rather wok with your doctor on identifying the best schedule that works best for you.

I hop you find this useful. I wish you well and hope this pain gets masterminded and managed accordingly.
