White Tongue For Months. Has Had Candida Before. Treatment?

I have had a white tongue for months now. I have sjogrens but my mouth isn't really dry. Have tried to scrape it off but it never goes away. I use biotene products to try to manage the terrible taste, nothing works, doesn't really look like candida that I have had before. I get pushed from one dr to another. One dr says it is caused from bacteria in my gut. One says it is thrush but nystatin doesn't help. I worked in pharmacy for 25 years and never had anyone complain about this lasting so long. Have tried to scrape the tongue, am very vigilant about hygiene care. Do not collect much placque. Floss anythime I eat anything.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

It seems your tongue problem is related to sjogren syndrome, due to decreased salivary flow, the normal flora gets altered.

Have you taken systemic antifungal drugs like fluconazole?

I would advise you to get a small culture sensitivity test done to know the inhabitants on your tongue presently.

Also meet your oral pathologist regarding symptomatic treatment of sjogren syndrome.
Continue maintaining good oral hygiene.

Let me know for further query.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Take care.
