Hi I m 33 years old and I just had the mirena removed after 5.5 years yesterday, this afternoon I began to get a pain on the side of my calf that feels like a bruise and it s a little warm to touch. That pain came out of nowhere. It hurts when I walk.
You have pain on the side of your calf and had Mirena removed after 5-5 years. Your calf feels warm to touch and there's also a bruise. Leg pain, musculoskeletal pain and tendonitis are listed side effects of Mirena, it takes a couple of months for the hormones to get out of the system. Some also experience severe leg pain, cramping or tingling. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP to detect any blood clot in the calf that is causing such symptoms, get investigations done.
Left undiagnosed and untreated may be life threatening. Do not stress, wear compression stockings. Switch to healthy lifestyle, avoid intake of sugar, alcohol, do regular walking but do not stress. Do not smoke cigarettes. Avoid addictions if any. On the bruise you can apply a thick layer of Ointment Thrombophob to reduce bruise. To get rid of pain, you can take Acetaminophen, one stat.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
