This is not a straight forward answer. There are many aspects to it. I will list a few.
1.
Insulin is the best medicine available for
diabetes. A person who can manage sugars with insulin has a lot of flexibility and has the best control on sugar.
2. There could be aspects regarding
kidney damage due to which the tablets cannot be advised. So maybe insulin is being given
3.Your sugars are on 150-160 range when you are on insulin. So you may have higher sugars when you are off insulin.
4. The dose of insulin is however not mentioned in the query. There is a certain range upto which tablets can control. Beyond that the insulin is usually required.
Please check
HbA1C. As i said there are many other aspects. A more detailed answer will need more details from your side
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
