Why Am I Feeling Pulsating Vibration Sound In My Right Ear?

Hello, for the past 3 and half weeks, I have been experiencing a pulsating vibration sound in my right ear and a blocked/full feeling. I went to an ENT doctor and she looked at it with a microscope and found nothing wrong. She only recommended I get an MRI although I feel there must be a simpler and less costly solution (I do not have insurance that covers this). I have no pain, headache, or dizziness but the discomfort from the distraction and annoyance has increased in the 3+ weeks since it began. I have tried OTC nasal decongestants since i had a bad head cold about a month and a half ago and felt it must be related. Is there any way to find relief without going through the cost and hassle of an MRI?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to tinnitus.
Tinnitus usually isn't a sign of something serious.
Although it can worsen with age it can improve with treatment.
Treating an identified underlying cause sometimes helps.
This is why the MRI is helpful and recommended.
Meanwhile,I suggest using anti anxiety drugs such as Xanax, which has should to be effective.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
