Why Are Stitches Still There After 2 1/2 Years Of Hysterectomy?
I had a hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair in July of 2011, I've been noticing an odor lately and I just passed a green stitch with a knot and loop, which was the definite cause of the odor, I dripped peroxide in the stitch and it instantly fizzed, any idea on why I still have stitches 2 1/2 yrs later.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It could be a stitch of the skin, lift by mistake, unnoticed. The other possibility may be the absorbable suture, being not absorbed, due to some changes in the suture material, or the floor of the pelvis which is expected to desolve it by its chemicals. I advise you to consult your doctor, for the present treatment. As there may be mixed infection with the resistant infection, it is to be treated now. I Usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms fluconazole, cifixime, ornidazole. wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
