Why Did The Doctor Fail To Locate The IUD When The Pelvic Scan Confirmed Its Presence ?

Hi., May I know why I the local Family Planning practitioners could not readily locate my Lup (an IUD ) after 5 Years in my body (with periodic, quarterly and yearly checks), even after a Pelvic Scan confirms its presence within the endometrium of my Anteverted Uterus?

Most likely the thread of the IUD may be lost even though the device may be still in place. In such a case it would be better to get the old device removed and replaced.
