Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Presence of mucus and pus in stool is suggestive of infection.
I advise you to give stool for tests such as stool routine and culture to confirm infection with the advise of your pediatrician.
Continue medication as prescribed by the doctor.
Give frequent exclusive breast feeds.
Consult the doctor for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
I find this answer helpful
