Why Does My Teenage Daughter Has Constant Constipation And Stomach Aches?
My teenage daughter has constant constipation and stomach aches . When bowl movements are not within 3 days and stomach aches occur should she take a laxative? And what is the normal number of bowl movements a week? she usually has 2-4 moments a week.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your teenage daughter who has constipation and stomach aches, Sometimes the motion does not occur for 3 days and then the pain in abdomen is more and wants to know whether she should get a laxative. As per the history you have given, the constipation looks to be the basic culprit and hence should be treated with suitable laxative to have proper evacuation of the bowel. Get an X-ray of the abdomen and if the colon is loaded with fecoliths, you may need an enema too. Avoid all the foods, beverages, medications and so on that you must have known by this time that cause constipation. also avoid stress and anxiety.
