Why Does My Two Year Old Son's Speech Distorted? What Is The Cause?
My son, almost two year old, has started to speak his first few words. However, when he speaks, he pulls in his lower inside his mouth(looks like an old man without teeth ) his has 4 bottom teeth and 4 upper teeth some of the side teeth are coming out. Speaking with his lower lip closed distorts his speech. He doesn t always speak that way but he does most of the time. What could be causing this?
Hello and welcome to hcm forum, Thanks for posting your query. Since your baby is only of the age of 2 years, the baby will be having infantile swallow pattern as well as tongue thrusting habit . So once your baby gets all the teeth and saliva discharge is controlled by themselves, speech will become normal. This is only physiological process and nothing to worry in this. Maintain your baby's oral hygiene well. Brush your baby's teeth daily. Give plenty of nutritious food too. Take care.
