Why Does One Have Blood In The Stools?

I have had the stomache flu for a week. My doctor had me take tamiflu and a zpack. I also took alot of ibuprofen. I was throwing up alot and had bad diareahha. Now when I go it is soft but there is blood. It has happened twice. It is red. There is no pain. I feel good now except for this. could it be from the meds or what?

Ibuprofen can cause bleeding but this is more common in older persons, persons with persistent chronic use or those with a bleeding order.

The bleeding may also be due to the gastrointestinal infection itself. Bacterial infections can cause this symptom to occur.

Replacing fluids are important to make sure that you do not become dehydrated.
Probiotics may also help slow down the diarrhea.

If it continues or worsens, then you need to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.
